This is what our Saturday consisted of. First ALL of the male members in the Wilson Household needed haircuts. So as we hurried to leave for our house to show (no we haven't heard anything but we do know this was a 2nd showing and they did want all of our disclosures we are hopeful that we might possibly get an offer)we met up at Sport's Clips for hair cuts. Now Christian who is 11 is in a stage where he wants his hair to be long. His mother likes for boys to have short hair. Thus his dad had to settle it. He decided that for now Christian could keep his long hair. So the picture you see is AFTER everyone had a hair cut even though Christian doesn't look like it!
Our second goal of the day was to make an eye appointment for Christian. After having glasses for 3 years now he asked Craig and I if he could get contacts. We tried to get him to get contacts last year because it would have been easier with baseball but he wasn't interested so we were very surprised when he approached us. Since he was almost due for his next eye appointment I took him on Saturday. (It was a good thing that we didn't wait the full year because his eyes had really changed again) So she fitted him for contacts. He was frustrated at first at the Dr.'s because of how long it took him to get them in and then when he FINALLY got both in she said great, now let's learn how to take them out - he was ready to cry. But he has done really well and in less than 1 day is getting them in and out with no trouble at all!! (Notice in the picture as well that he isn't wearing his glasses.)
Lastly, Craig had received 4 free tickets to the Astro's game tonight. A man who works for Minute Maid Park had come into the ER several month's ago and was Craig's patient, when he found out Craig had 3 boys he said I want to give you guys some free tickets. The only "downside" was there are 5 in our family and even though all of the boys like baseball - MOM is one of the biggest Astro's fan's!! Joel is the least fan by far so we tried to find a babysitter for him so that the other 4 of us to go but couldn't fine one. So Christian and Caleb decided they would rather go to the game with dad than mom (big surprise) so Craig took them and Joel and I stayed home. (Side note - my husband knowing how much I love and enjoyed the games said he would stay home with Joel and I could take Christian and Caleb but I knew they really wanted to go with him). Joel and I had Chick-Fil-A, ice cream, played Candyland and read 4 books while they enjoyed the Astro's game (this is a picture Craig took from his seat). The Astro's lost but everyone had a fun night!
Next Friday I am traveling with my ex-boss Jackie Garner (Director of Women's Ministry for Lakewood) to a women's conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Although I won't be speaking I will have a chance to pray and minister to the women at all 3 sessions. I am really, really excited. I have really missed not having that opportunity since quiting my job and I am so excited to see how God changes the womens lives!
